But thanks to the awesome modding community of Stardew, more specifically, the modder FlashSighter, we can now have more characters, locations, and content in Stardew.

Introduction
Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE) is the biggest expansion mod for Stardew Valley that brings tons of new content to the vanilla game. From new NPCs, locations, events, and maps to questlines, music, crops, and more, there is a lot to explore.
Stardew Valley Expanded remains true to the lore. Despite adding new events, expanded dialogue, new characters, and areas, the mod stays true to the source material. The aim of the mod is basically to give you the same exciting feeling you had when you first started playing this game.
Stardew Valley is an incredibly enchanting game that attracts you into its world by letting you complete immersive quests, meeting interesting characters, and living the farm life. The Stardew Valley Expanded mod expands on all of those moments to offer you more content to enjoy.

Locations
The Stardew Valley Expanded mod adds many new locations to the game and also makes changes to the old ones. Some of my personal favorite new locations are:
1. Jenkins’ Residence
Home to Victor and Olivia, Jenkin’s Residence is located north of 1 River Road and east of Pierre’s General Store. It is a big house with a library filled with books and a cellar for Olivia to keep her wine.
2. Blue Moon Vineyard
The Blue Moon Vineyard is an all-new location found in the southeast of Marnie’s Ranch and the west of the beach. It is run and owned by Sophia, who took over the farm after her parents died tragically. You can run into Sophia and purchase quality sprinklers, Blue Moon wine, and aged Blue Moon wine from the cosplay room.
3. Crimson Badlands
Crimson Badlands is a new and highly dangerous location that is accessible after you finish the “Enchanted Grove” questline. The reason why it’s so dangerous is because you will come across some really scary monsters here, such as spirits, corrupt serpents, mummies, zombie adventurers, and a powerful creature known as the Apophis.
This location also has some really cool bone artifacts, an iridium quarry where you can mine, and two new and unique kinds of fish.
4. Highlands
Highlands is an all new area added to Stardew Valley which is just waiting to be explored. The Highlands is full with lots of enemies and opportunities, just like the Crimson Badlands. This location is accessible once you finish the “Marlon’s Boat” quest. This is also where you can find the new NPC, Lance.
5. Forest West
Forest West is a new forest located in the west of the Cindersap Forest. This new location is the entrance to the Bear Shop and Sprite Spring, and has the Aurora Vineyard inside. You can also find a small river for fishing, and a mass of pine trees in this location.
What’s more, there are also some really cool Ancient Sword artifacts for the museum in the South of the forest, including the Forest Sword weapon. You can find these artifacts by digging into the ground. These artifacts are the remnants of a huge battle between humans and dwarves.
6. Emerald Farm
The Emerald Farm is a new farm in Stardew Valley which is also home to the new NPC Susan. This farm is located by the railroad and spa and is not accessible until the Summer of Year 1. Susan is a skilled farmer who rotates the crops according to the seasons, so you will get to witness different crops depending on the time of the year you are visiting her farm.
Farm Maps
Stardew Valley Expanded adds two new farm maps to the game. However, you will need to download these maps separately as they do not come with the mod’s main files.
1. Grandpa’s Farm
Grandpa’s Farm is a big farm map which comes with all the vanilla features. It expands the farm size and adds many features of various default Stardew Valley farms. This farm features Grandpa’s Shed, Grandpa’s Shrine, Greenhouse, Forgeable Areas, Bat/Mushroom Cave, new artifacts spots, and several different types of fish in the river. To make the most of this map, make sure to start a new save.
2. Immersive Farm 2 Remastered
Immersive Farm 2 Remastered is yet another new farm map added by Stardew Valley Expanded. This map expands the vanilla farm maps and requires you to have a steel axe and steel pickaxe to access different spots on this map.
This farm features Grandpa’s Shed, Greenhouse, Forgeable Areas, Bat/Mushroom Cave, Quarry, Forest Clearing, Waterfall Pond, new fish, artifacts spots, and an opening event.
New Items
Stardew Valley Expanded adds hundreds of new items to the game. Here’s a breakdown of each item in different categories and how you can obtain it:
Weapons
In addition to new locations and characters, the Stardew Valley Expanded mod also adds 4 all new and super cool weapons to the game:
- Diamond Wand, which can be obtained from Lance for 0g.
- Tempered Galaxy Dagger, which can be bought from Alesia for 350,000g.
- Tempered Galaxy Hammer, which can be bought from Isaac for 400,000g.
- Tempered Galaxy Sword, which can be bought from Isaac for 600,000g.
Fish
This mod adds 27 new fish to Stardew Valley, some of which include:
- Butterfish, obtained from the Shearwater Bridge (Spring, Summer, Fall) and Forest West (Summer) during the daytime in sunny weather.
- Bonefish, obtained from Crimson Badlands all day.
- Clownfish, obtained from Ginger Island during the daytime.
- Goldenfish, obtained from the Sprite Spring and Junimo Woods all day.

- Void Soul, which can be obtained from Foraging in Crimson Badlands for 150g.
- Void Shard, which can be obtained from the Apophis monster and void eel pond for 10,000g.
- Void Pebble, which can be obtained from the void eel pond, the corrupt serpent, and the corrupt mummy monsters for 800g.
- Rusty Blade, which can be obtained from Foraging in Crimson Badlands and the Fallen Adventurer monster for 200g.
- Swirl Stone, which can be obtained from Foraging in Crimson Badlands for 7,500g.

There are also some really amazing new consumables added by the expansion pack. These include:

Festivals
Stardew Valley Expanded also adds several new Festivals to the game. These are special events in the game about which you are notified a day ahead via mail from Lewis. These festivals add cosmetic changes to the game and also have some exciting secrets hidden, waiting to be discovered. What’s more, the locations for eggs in the egg festivals are also different.
There are two events every month, and one event during the fall:
1. Spirit’s Eve
Celebrated on the 27th of Fall every year, Spirit’s Eve adds two new mazes to the game that will rotate every year. You can go to the festival by entering Pelican Town between 10pm and 11:50pm. Once the festival is over and you leave, you will be back to The Farm at 12am.
2. Community Day
Celebrated every month, Community Day occurs on the 22nd of every month after the Community Center is completed. You can find basically all the residents of the game in this festival, which proves to be the opportunity to meet everyone, create a good bond with them, and give them gifts.
3. Joja Day
Joja Day is yet another monthly festival added by Stardew Valley Expanded that occurs on the 22nd of every month after the Joja Route is completed. You can get 20% off on all the purchasable seeds in this festival. It also includes some really cool Joja-themed items.
You can find basically all the residents of the game in this festival, which proves to be the opportunity to meet everyone, create a good bond with them, and give them gifts. However, you won’t find Pierre, Magnus, Sophia, Susan, and Caroline here.
How to Install Stardew Valley Expanded?
It is pretty easy to install Stardew Valley Expanded. However, the mod requires several other mods to function properly. So you will first need to download and install the following mods:

- Content Patcher
- Extra Map Layers
- Custom NPC Exclusions
- Spacecore
- Json Assets
- Expanded Preconditions Utility
- Farm Type Manager
- SAAT – Audio API and Toolkit
- Shop Tile Framework
Download, unzip, and put all the mods in the game’s Mods folder (SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods), and then follow these steps:
- Go to your game folder and open the “Mods” folder in there.
- Now download the Stardew Valley Expanded mod from Nexus. You can either download the mod manually or use a mod manager like Vortex to download SVE.
- Once done, unzip the downloaded mod folder and then move it to the game’s Mods folder.

Configurations
When you run the game with the SVE mod installed for the first time, there will be a configuration file in the [CP] Immersive Farm 2, [CP] Stardew Valley Expanded, and [CP] Grandpa’s Farm folders. You can toggle the configurations on already existing saves to alter your SVE experience according to your style. The mod offers configuration options for visual and difficulty changes.
To do so, open this configuration file in a text editor and swap “false” with “true”. This would enable the config option.
Do note that you will need to update the config.json file whenever you install a newer version of SVE. When updating manually, you can copy and paste the file from the older folder into the new one. If you forget to update this file, your saves will be changed permanently after a complete in-game day has passed and the game auto-saves.
