Assured Pathway entry requirements
High performing secondary school students can apply for entry to the Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Doctor of Medicine (Assured Pathway) on our Sydney Campus or Fremantle Campus at the same time. Successful applicants will secure a place in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) upon completion of the Bachelor of Biomedical Science.
International admission requirements for the Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Doctor of Medicine (Assured Pathway) include:
- Meeting of the minimum academic entry requirements of 92 ATAR(Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) or equivalent (see table)
- Meeting of minimum English proficiency requirements
- Successful completion of University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT ANZ) or International Student Admissions Test (ISAT) which will be ranked to determine interview
- Students in the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Assured Pathway) must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 each semester during the completion of their degree.
To be eligible for the Assured Pathway, applicants must not have commenced tertiary studies, including a university degree or vocational training at diploma level. Applicants who have already commenced tertiary studies may apply for Graduate Entry into the Doctor of Medicine, during or after completion of their bachelor’s degree.

Assured Pathway entry requirements: Minimum ATAR equivalency table
International school leaver applicants wishing to apply for the Assured Pathway to the MD via undergraduate Biomedical Science require a minimum ATAR of 92 (or equivalent). Applicants who have completed studies other than ATAR will have their final results converted as per the table below.

Graduate entry to our Doctor of Medicine (MD)
Each year, a number of places are available for international students in Notre Dame University’s Doctor of Medicine on both our Perth and Sydney Campuses.International applicants will be selected for admission based on the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree that has been recognised as equivalent to an Australian Bachelor’s degree, AQF Level 7 and which has been taught and assessed in English within the last 10 years, or to be in the final year of an eligible Bachelor’s degree.
- An overall weighted Grade Point Average of 5.2 or higher on a 7 point scale, calculated from the applicant’s most recent three years of undergraduate study.
- Unweighted GAMSAT Score of at least 50 (in all sections and overall) or overall MCAT score of at least 500.
- The School of Medicine uses a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) format, these interviews will be conducted online. For the online version of the MMI, you will be asked several separate interview questions. The interview will be recorded with the use of an online interviewing software tool, Modern Hire.

Clinical skills
The Doctor of Medicine places a strong emphasis on practical training and experiential learning. Throughout the four years of your study, you will undertake clinical placements in a variety of settings, including aged care facilities, public and private hospitals, and general practice.
Your third and fourth years are clinically based and present the opportunity to explore the different disciplines of medicine. You will complete discipline-based rotations in a clinical setting, and further develop your research skills with a translation research project and/or clinical audit based in the hospital sector. There are rural/remote training opportunities including, for some students, a Rural Clinical School placement in one or two of the clinical years.
