This is an 11-month position.

LOCATION OF POSITION

This position will beprimarily located at the Frederick Campus, but applicants must be willing towork on both the Frederick and Columbia Campuses.

Main Purpose of Job

Coordinate and oversee the administration of assessments and analyze data to provide meaningful information to guide educational decision making in order to support the implementation of a bilingual educational program for Deaf students in a language accessible environment as well as an enriched bicultural environment conducive to the development of the optimal social and emotional growth of Deaf students.

POSITION DUTIES

Serve as a liaison with the MSDEon state assessments, communicate out state policies and testing changes.Attend state meetings and trainings. Coordinate and monitor the administrationof state assessments as well as internal assessments from birth-21 includingalternate assessments. Coordinate Advance Placement (AP) testing working withthe College Board. Responsible for managing online systems and any papersystems for the coordination, administration and monitoring of tests includingbut not limited to the state system, Measures of Academic Progress (MAP),Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA, The Raven (gifted and talented testing),etc. Updates testing results/waivers in PowerSchool, working with thePowerSchool administrator. Synthesize, analyze and represent data in a varietyof ways for reporting to both internal and external stakeholders. Track dataover specific periods of time. Provide training to staff on all facets oftesting and data analysis.


Assistthe Director of Curriculum and Instruction with Maryland State Department of Education(MSDE) licensure including but not limited to supporting staff through thecertification process, liaising with the MSDE to ensure certificationcompliance; and all accreditation tasks for both obtaining and maintainingcertification.

This position is 11 months, works on both the Frederick and Columbia campuses, and reports directly to the Director of Curriculum andInstruction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience in data analysis or the administration of assessments.

Must possess or be eligible for immediate MarylandDepartment of Education (MSDE) certificate or license for professional schoolstaff. Eligible areas of certification/licensure include: teachers, guidancecounselors, library media specialists, school psychologists, pupil personnelworkers and school administrators.

Fluency in American Sign Language and written Englishrequired.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • MA in education, mathematics, data analysis or related field

Experience:

  • Administering state assessments
  • Using Excel or similar software
  • Using Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)
  • Navigating Maryland’s online IEP system
  • Teaching in a K-12 setting

Knowledge of:

  • Brigance
  • Alternate assessment options
  • Knowledge of criteria- and norm-referenced assessments Testing accommodations

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
